Overview

The PW600 turbofan engine family in the 900 to 3,000 pounds thrust class has proven to be a major catalyst in creating a new era of business aviation. The exciting new family of very light jets is reshaping business travel and the compact, fuel efficient, clean and very cost effective PW600 is the engine at the heart of this new generation of upstart jets. Specially designed for point-to-point travel in a new generation of very light and light jets, this innovative engine family offers outstanding performance together with Pratt & Whitney Canada's trademark dependability. Compact and lightweight, the PW600 is built with half the parts of a conventional turbofan, also making it easy and fast to maintain. Capable of delivering from 900 up to 3,000 pounds of take-off thrust, the PW600 family incorporates the latest technologies to deliver highly fuel efficient power with low carbon emissions. It also comes equipped with dual-channel full-authority digital engine control (FADEC), which translates into reduced pilot workload and engine monitoring with longer time on wing.
Operators of PW600 engines are supported by P&WC’s industry-leading global customer support. This includes over 30 P&WC-owned and designated service facilities around the world, more than 100 field support representatives on all major continents, a 24/7 Customer First Centre for rapid expert support, the most advanced diagnostic capabilities for this market and the largest pool of P&WC rental and exchange engines in the industry.

Features-1

PW600 engines incorporate the latest advanced technologies in the drive to exceed our customers’ expectations in performance, reliability, durability, fuel consumption and environmental friendliness. Three PW600 models are currently available (PW610F, PW615F and PW617F) ranging in thrust from 950 to 1,750 pounds. The engine core developed as a demonstrator earlier this decade has been designed to enable the PW600 family of engines to grow to 3,000 pounds thrust.
The PW600 is a two-spool engine with a two-stage high pressure compressor driven by a single-stage high pressure turbine and a single-stage low pressure turbine driving a robust, advanced technology fan. A high efficiency reverse-flow combustor ensures low emissions and fuel consumption. A high efficiency exhaust mixer further contributes to the engine family’s low fuel burn and noise. Furthermore, the latest Full-Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) provides reduced pilot workload and advanced engine health monitoring/diagnostics, assuring a high standard in aircraft dispatch availability. Special attention to “maintenance by design” enables fast access to engine externals and overnight, on-wing hot section refurbishment. The result is a compact, light weight design powering an impressive line of new generation very light business jets.
